Over the past twenty years, VANDYK Communities has emerged as one of Ontario’s finest home builders. With its roots in the construction of custom luxury homes and commercial office and retail developments, the Company has continually expanded its operations to include the development of master planned communities that feature elegant town-homes, condominiums, and distinctive single family homes.

As the Company continues to evolve, it is developing a keen sense of design, and need for unparalleled customer service. These qualities were evident in 1989 as the founder and President, Mr. John C. Vandyk, began building custom homes in a few of the most desirable residential areas of Mississauga and Oakville.

In the ten years leading up to 1999, the Company built more than 400 exclusive design/build homes for some of Ontario’s most respected business and community leaders. Communities such as The Manors of Prince John in the Sherwood Forest enclave of south Mississauga; Indian Valley Estates in prestigious Mineola West in Mississauga; and Hampton Manors in Oakville, all reflect the Company’s attention to design, service, selection and price.

As the company continues to grow at a respectable pace, a natural expansion into master planned communities with multiple family developments has occurred.

The process began in earnest in 2002 with the launch of the Brownstones of Brampton - a townhome development in the heart of old downtown Brampton, Ontario, and the Fiddler’s Glen Estates in the quaint old town of Shelburne, Ontario. The Brownstones of Brampton featured 82 stunning brownstone townhomes and was one of the most successful developments in downtown Brampton during the last few years – selling out to excited first-time buyers within a few weeks.

In Shelburne, Phase I of this lovely new Canadiana-style community consisted of 77 single family homes – also successfully launched and quickly snapped up by new home purchasers. The Company is currently constructing 134 homes in Fiddler’s Glen Phases II and III, and in 2006 will launch its newest Shelburne development, which will consist of more than 350 single family homes and townhomes.

The Company’s focus on developing markets such as Shelburne is no accident. By applying the latest in design/build technologies, the Company is able to provide affordable, yet distinctively charming homes to new home buyers in these communities. This will be clearly evident with West Park Village in beautiful Cobourg, Ontario. This project will offer an appealing mix of New Urbanism and traditional bungalows and two-storey designs that feature front porches, rear garages and patios. This family-friendly development will ultimately include more than 400 homes for all types of new home buyers ranging from first-time to empty-nesters and active adults.

Over the next year, VANDYK will also be launching its first major high-rise condominium development in Mississauga. This spectacularly located project on Erin Mills Parkway will be the first of many such future projects by VANDYK.
